(February 06, 2012)Copper Songs
We are delighted that John Copper and family will be joining us at The Fountain Inn, Ashurst after our short walk on Sunday 19th February to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the publication of Hilaire Belloc's book - THE FOUR MEN. Have a look at 'next guided walks' for details
South Downs Way Walk 2012
This year's event is from 22nd to 30th June 2012 walking from Winchester to Eastbourne. Bookings are now open (and coming in fast) on the event website:
The Midhurst Way
Bookings are now coming in for our Easter Walk next year (6th & 7th April 2012) when we explore the new Midhurst Way between Arundel and Midhurst through some of the prettiest countryside in Sussex.
The New Lipchis Way
We are delighted that West Sussex County Council, The South Downs National Park Authority and Midhurst Town Council have all offered us grants towards improving the New Lipchis Way Trail and reprinting the trail guide. We are working on it this winter and will tweet when copies are available.
Guided Walks Programme
Not such good news is that West Sussex County Council have suspended publication of the ever popular "Exploring West Sussex" walks booklet. In conjunction with Per-Rambulations we have, therefore, published our own simple leaflet of guided walks for the winter/spring of 2012 called 'DISCOVERING SUSSEX'
(pages 1 & 2 and pages 3 & 4 should be printed back to back)
Red Kites over Sussex
And finally, what a wonderful sight over the South Downs - Keith spotted four Red Kites whilst checking out a walk at Barpham Hill last Spring. Let's hope we see many more of these beautiful creatures on the Sussex Downs in 2012
