Lewes

LEWES is the county town of East Sussex. Sitting astride the River Ouse it is dominated by its 11th century castle built soon after the conquest of 1066

It is now a bustling commercial town with a very wide choice of pubs and restaurants and the two B & B's we use are just off the High Street.

Lewes, of course, is one of the stops where we provide taxis to take you to and from the trail. Our contract with the largest fleet of taxis in the town means you rarely have long to wait at the Newmarket Inn before being whisked into town.
