Steyning

STEYNING is our home town and has been the base for Footprints Holidays for over fifteen years - when we first began leading holidays on the south downs way for the Youth Hostels Association.

We've walked the trail many times in both directions since then and have got to know the towns and villages along the trail rather well; which is why we can boast that Steyning is still the nicest town on the trail !

This is our parish church of St. Andrews in springtime:

                                 St Andrews

....  and this is Saxon Cottage, just round the corner from where you'll stay:

Saxon Cott

..... and this is Keith enjoying a drink with the late Bob Copper MBE, who wrote such beautiful words and songs about the south downs .....

The old Steyning coaching inns have been providing hospitality to travellers for 400 years.

Today the White Horse boasts one of the best restaurants in Sussex - and is regularly voted 'best evening meal' on our feedback forms.   We'll be delighted to meet you here and buy you a drink, when you stay overnight in Steyning.
